So when you launch Plexamp from a wrapped shortcut, it will turn off Chrome having global options, and when you close Plexamp, it allows you to use the Chrome extensions globally again. I wrote some simple scripts to be able to wrap the Plexamp launcher around two scripts that edit how Chrome allows media keys to be used globally. I hope this isn't considered self promotion, but I just wanted to get this out there in case any one else was having these issues. Unfortunately Chrome makes it so that if you allow it to have your media key inputs globally, you can't use them with local apps like Plexamp. I like using the Streamkeys chrome extension to be able to control YouTube, the Plex web App, and well whatever other media players I end up using. But there was one issue that I was having problems with that just felt like a deal breaker for me. Okay, so I want to first start off by saying, I hope this is the right place, and that it's directly related to Plex, even though it is technically Plexamp.Īnyways, I love Plexamp, there's just something about the visualizers that do it for me.
